Our Approach to Psychiatric Care
Understanding, empathy, and collaboration are at the heart of Dr. Ozinci’s approach to psychiatric care. She recognizes that every patient brings a unique combination of experiences, concerns, strengths, and goals. For that reason, treatment is never based on a one-size-fits-all model.
Dr. Ozinci combines evidence-based psychiatry with a functional, whole-person perspective. Rather than focusing only on symptoms, she considers the broader factors that may influence mental health, including sleep, nutrition, stress, genetic factors, medical conditions, hormonal changes, lifestyle, relationships, environment, and developmental history.
This comprehensive approach helps identify potential contributing factors and supports the creation of a personalized treatment plan that is practical, thoughtful, and sustainable. When appropriate, care may also involve coordination with primary care physicians, therapists, schools, or other healthcare professionals.
What to Expect
1. Comprehensive Evaluation
The initial evaluation focuses on understanding your concerns, medical and psychiatric history, daily functioning, lifestyle, experiences, and treatment goals. Before the appointment, you will be asked to complete evidence- based screening forms and questionnaires. Dr. Ozinci reviews this information in advance so the session can be focused and productive.
2. Exploring Underlying and Contributing Factors
Dr. Ozinci evaluates the psychological, biological, developmental, social, medical, and environmental factors that may be contributing to symptoms. This may include attention to sleep quality, stress, nutrition, physical health, family dynamics, school or work demands, and other relevant influences.
3. Developing a Personalized Understanding
The information gathered during the evaluation is used to develop a clear and individualized understanding of your symptoms, needs, strengths, and priorities.
4. Creating a Collaborative Treatment Plan
Dr. Ozinci works closely with each patient and family to create a treatment plan aligned with their goals and preferences. Recommendations may include medication management, psychotherapy, behavioral strategies, sleep and lifestyle support, care coordination, or a combination of approaches.
5. Ongoing Follow-Up and Support
Follow-up appointments focus on progress, treatment response, emerging concerns, and any adjustments needed over time. The treatment plan evolves as the patient’s needs change.
Dr. Ozinci’s goal is to provide compassionate, evidence-based, and whole-person psychiatric care that helps every patient feel heard, understood, and supported.
